Early Life
|
As Gandhi grew, he learned that fighting for rights is important, but in the early years of his life that was less clear. Mohandas K. Gandhi was born in Porbandar, India on October 2, 1869. Before Gandhi was born, the British had taken full control of the Indian sub-continent. His father, Karamchand Gandhi, was the Prime Minister of the small state they lived in called Rajkot. At the age of thirteen, Mohandas married a thirteen year old girl named Kasturba. They lived happily until Gandhi became sixteen, when his father died. |
